# 53.6 - safety barrier for 4-channel workstation --- # Overview This manual provides instructions for installing safety barrier for a maintenance shaft using mounting clamps on the floor and ceiling levels. Level 1 and Level 2 where 4-channel workstation is positioned are installed 2. Workstation is installed at Level 1 3. Bracings are installed (if required) Connectors direction is below. It is similar on all floors. Connectors directions for safety barrier installation, 4-channel workstation Column layout for safety barrier installation, 4-channel workstation level 1 Column layout for safety barrier installation, 4-channel workstation level 2 ## Step 1 Mount [15.13 half clamp](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/15.13/) and [15.14 half clamp](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/15.14/) (assembly of [15.18 clamp](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/15.18/)) onto the bottom of Column A and fasten with [99.2217 screw](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/99.2217/). Refer to the clamp’s position in the images below for proper mounting. Tighten just enough to ensure that clamp remains securely attached to the column. Ensure that the side of the clamp with threaded holes is oriented towards the center of Column B. Clamp’s position at the bottom of the column ## Step 2 Mount the clamp onto the middle of Column A. Repeat the instructions from step 1. Ensure that the clamp is positioned as depicted in the image below. Clamp’s position at the middle of the column ## Step 3 Proceed to repeat steps with Columns C, D, F. Clamps on these columns must have following orientation: 1. Clamps on Column C must be oriented towards Column B. 2. Clamps on Column D must be oriented towards Column E. 3. Clamps on Column F must be oriented towards Column E. ## Step 4 As soon as all safety clamps on Columns A, C, D, F are installed, proceed to installation of [15.19 clamps](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/15.19/) onto Columns B, E. For this you need to install a safety panel as 15.19 are mounted with [99.2217 screw](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/99.2217/). Position the safety panel so that its holes align with the clamp’s threaded holes installed on Column A. Fasten with a [99.2217 screw](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/99.2217/) both at the bottom and middle of the Column A. ## Step 5 Holding the safety panel, proceed to mounting [15.19 clamp](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/15.19/) safety clamp. Mount 2 pcs. of [15.15 half clamp](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/15.15/) (assembly of [15.19 clamp](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/15.19/)) onto the bottom of column B and fasten with a [99.2217 screw](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/99.2217/), so that [15.19 clamp](https://cloud.instock.com/assets/articles/15.19/) is secured. Repeat for the middle of the column B. Ensure that clamps on opposite columns are positioned at the same level, so that the safety panel can be installed. If required, adjust the clamps on the column. Mounted 15.19 clamp ## Step 6 Proceed to install safety panels and 15.19 safety clamps between columns: C-B, D-E, E-F. Mounted 15.19 clamp ## Step 7 Proceed to repeat steps 1-3. ## Step 8 Mount additional clamps for safety panels onto Column A, so that an “angle” is formed. Now, the clamp with threaded holes must be oriented towards the center of Column F. Clamp ‘angle’ ## Step 9 Proceed to repeat step 8 with Columns C, D, F. ## Step 10 Install the rest of safety clamps and safety panels as described in steps 4-6. ## Step 11 To mount safety panels on level 2, repeat steps 4-6 for columns A-C, C-B, D-E, E-F, F-G, A-G To install safety clamps for 4-channel workstation - level 2 on the ceiling, follow the same instructions as for installation on the floor.
